Connects through the vendor's official MCP server. The tool list is pinned when you connect, reads run freely, and anything that changes data waits for your approval.

Metabase serves MCP from your own instance, and an admin turns it on
- In Metabase, an administrator opens Admin, then AI, then MCP, and switches the MCP server on. AI features must be enabled for the instance as well. It is off until they do.
- Your server address is your Metabase followed by /api/metabase-mcp, for example https://metabase.yourcompany.com/api/metabase-mcp. Paste that into the Server URL field here.
- Sign in when prompted. Metabase runs its own sign-in for this, so there is no separate provider to set up, and the access it gives Aira is scoped to your own Metabase permissions.
